Carl I just started using them recently. I bought some Harbinger wrist wraps. I think they are kind of cheap, but they do the trick.
I only use them on my heavy sets. They make a world of difference.
It's almost like on the deadlift, if your grip is giving you feel like you can't pull as much. Well I've learned that when benching, if your wrists feel unstable or over loaded, you can't push as much.
If that makes sense.

That's how I do it. Really Straps and wraps are 2 completely different things that are used for completely different purposes.

I have never used wraps Babs, but Im finding my CTS more prevalent lately, so I think they will be a good idea.

With straps i use them for heavy pulls only, and only after my grip has actually gone.

I only use straps, at this point, and only once grip has given out. Wraps sound a sensible thing to consider, the heavier you want to go.

Well I am hoping on getting my bench up comparable to my other lifts so a good 20kg before Christmas and I dont want my crappy joints ruining all my fun

Prevention is better then cure

5KG, you got it. Wrap up for heavy presses and if you must, strap up for heavy pulls.

I have a a pair of I believe "flexsport" wrist wraps I picked up for only $4. These are only about 10 inches and very thin. I also have a pair of the harbinger 18 or 24" these are inexpensive and get the job done fairly well. I also will use everlast boxing wraps that I've cut down.

I personally like the nonelastic boxing wraps the best. But I'm to lazy to spend the time wrapping so for the most part I go with the thin, short flexsports for some light support.
