Default What do you guys think? Belt and Wraps

Just shopping around for my belt and wraps, trying to be economical but I need to get them soon as the meet is only 8 weeks away. Found these deals, opinions?

I have a Crain belt which is AWESOME! From what I have heard, the EliteFTS own brand wrists wraps are great value for money.

Wraps will wear out but you should spend a decent amount of cash on your belt as that should last for years. Remember: Buy cheap and you'll buy twice

buy a lever belt and never buy another belt. I have the inzer 13mm lever and also use the EFS wrist wraps.

Crain "Economy Power Belt" belts are a great value. About $55. I had one and gave it to Bodybygamma. Just make sure you get the right waist size.

Power Belts

Wrist wraps...I use Harbinger and like them.

As Al said, a good powerlifting belt should last pretty much forever. I've got an Inzer belt, but Crain also makes good belts. EliteFTS makes an econo single-prong belt for $69.95, which is a very good price for a quality belt.

Basically what you want in a powerlifting belt is something that is 4" wide the entire circumference and made of a single piece (or multiple layers stitched together) of 10mm or 13mm (if you're really hardcore) leather. Keep in mind that you want to get your belt EARLY so you can break it in. Breaking in a 13mm belt is a real BITCH, so figure on a few weeks, assuming you wear it for every rep every set (which you should when breaking it in). I'd also consider looking at House of Pain or EliteFTS for wrist wraps; again you definitely want to get used to them before your meet

Get a single prong belt, not double. Single is a lot easier to get tight and into the holes. Never been a fan of the lever either. I like having a training parther step across so that he uses his body weight to tighted the belt. A good belt will last forever! It will be kicking butt in the gym long after you give it up.

A few years ago APT owned the market on wraps, but their customer service is crap right now. They also dont have anything is stock these days. Rhino Wraps is a new company started by Steve Dension (uspa, olympia). I have heard a lot of great stuff about them. Titan also has various levels of wraps. Ken Anderson (andersonpowerlifting.com) can get you a set very quickly. He has the best customer service in the world. He got me my RAM in 2 days. I sent him a bench shirt to mod, and I got it back in 5days.

I have an APT lever belt, and EFS wraps (heavy) and I love them, but I got the belt from a friend as someone stole my previous APT single prong belt. Great company but as J said crap customer service.

Its a shame too, my belt and all my wraps at one point were APT. They were really good, hopefully they will fix it.

Alrighty, thanks for all of the suggestions fellas. I will continue looking around at all the different companies you guys mentioned for wraps. When they ask for a waist measurement for a belt they're talking around like your navel right?
