I'm considering making the journey down there for the meet. It would be a blast to meet up with everyone for an event like this. I have another meet in MN on August 13th, but what the hell, it's only two weeks apart, that gives me a one week recovery!

I know there's a dislike of bb.com on here, but this thread: Your first meet. - Bodybuilding.com Forums

will be helpful for many of you contemplating this meet.

edit: my personal opinion is that the ADFPF is a fine federation for a novice or your first meet, but I wouldn't put much stock in their records...looking at their national records pretty quickly, the highest equipped squat is a 145kg/319lb(SHW in any other fed, ADFPF also has weird weight classes) going 340kg/749lbs. I did more than that at 125kg. Their 125kg national record is 600lbs...equipped. Not bad, but not by any means a meaningful record.

I don't mean to disparage or be negative, just to inform, its a beginner's federation.

We're just having fun. We understand it's not a big federation, and I think most of us understand the records and that they aren't high because of the lack of depth in the federation. We're just looking to get a bunch of friends together and lift weights.

It's still going to be fun to meet friends and destroy their records.

I personally want to get a small meet like this under my belt to see if it's worth it to push my old body for Elite status.

LOLs!!
I followed the link, and found the OP - who obviously knows his shit - is banned.
So many legit trainers are either red or banned on that joke of a forum.
