Big But Dumb
Last year I ran a program that I called Big But Dumb. Basically, I used only 1-2 lifts per workout - generally a major compound lift, and a supporting or synergistic exercise.

I am in the mood to simplifying. I don't like going into the gym with a long agenda of exercises to perform. My challenge right now is to meld Big But Dumb with a fullbody approach.

I am still trying to work this through...

My goals are as always powerbuilding. I want to get my deadlift up while maintaining muscle mass.

I might toss out a few ideas in this thread.

I might do an AB split with cluster training on 2 lifters per day. Fast, hard and get out.

Very interesting. I read Power to the People and that russian dude had some ideas similar to this. He did Deadlifts and One arm presses as his base exercises three times a week as one of his main training regimens.

You're all obviously way more knowledgeable than me, but if this strikes an idea, there you go.

I would do this like an ABA, BAB type thing switching every week. I don't think really heavy deadlift pulling is good more than once a week, so do heavy deads on the first B, then supporting high rep deads, stiff deads, rack pulls, rows, shrugs, whatever, on the alternate B's. On A each day, you would squat (HLM) and then do a horizontal press or a vertical press.
