Hmmmm....So I'm clueless here... What's the primary muscle worked with a standard deadlift? I always feel it in my mid-lower back, as well as some good tightness all over as needed to deadlift. I would think using a TB would prevent RDLs, because you're not bending so far forward as you said, but this is almost a squat/deadlift hybrid....

Edit: Just read you saying it was a hybrid type of move...

Still hmmm... I don't have one at either gym I could use. They both say the HS Shrug machine is better, but if that thing is not bolted down it moves on lift off...

It would be much harder to RDL a trap bar deadlift.

On second look, it's more like a backwards squat. Weight at the bottom, and you just stand up, while holding the handles. I see that as more of a leg workout than back...but I suppsoe the back would have to be pretty tight to move the weight, so it would work that too...

Now I want to find one....

It works, I used one Sat with Steve and the guys. I wouldn't use it to completely replace the conventional dead, but it is defiantly going to become a part of training. Great overloading and grip developer.
