Default Bench Press and hand placing

How do I figure out how wide to get the bar when benching (I mean benching PL style)? Do I have to go by feel? Or is there a general rule to follow. Because when I watch PL vids they all place there hands very wide. I place them around shoulder width.

I go to those rings and place where my hand feels good but so I get a nice deep chest press

Yeah I do it the same. But since I want to compete in a PL meet I think I need to go wider since that will decrease my ROM. Altough when trying it, it feels very unnaturel.

Arm placement has to be set around your body, and shouldn't be arbitrary. Here's a video I made that might help:
