No deadz, kman. I hate not doing the deadlift, but this will improve my total, so I can deal with it.

Steve, why would he run Smolov with the front squat? Isn't he a powerlifter?

Eh, sometimes you don't need to deadlift much to improve your deadlift. If you can sneak in some pulls against bands once or twice a month, you should be good.

I forgot his reasoning. He is a powerlifter. He did log it here though. I remember the log - brutal, but he made good gains.

Change of plans.

I decided against doing Smolov without a belt. I will run the program and use a belt like I've been doing, which has been mainly with sets above 315. It's too risky, considering how much forward lean I have when I squat, even with a belt. You can see it here:

because the HUGE increase in his front squat greatly helped his back squat and deadlift
