Competition this weekend, unexpected

Strongman Competition at the Iowa Games this weekend. I thought I had like a month left to prep. I was like well screw it ya know but my trainer talked me in to doing it anyway. I missed registration by 15 days but after talking to the comissioner I am setup to register the day of. I am really stoked while at the same time scared out of my mind. I was counting on this last month... I guess its time to sink or swim here! Events will include Tire flip, as many flips as you can do in one minute. Farmers walk, 160 ft course with one turn. Truck pull, and the Husefel stone carry... I am a bit nervous about the best way to go about the stone carry? I havent trained for this, it is a 250 pound stone for as far as you can carry it. Any advice on technique? Im just going to eat eat eat and sleep sleep sleep.

For the turn on the farmers walk you will want to point the ends of the farmers implements together in front of you, sort of like this /\ as you make the turn. Stigg leg the stone off the ground. Do not try and pick it up like a barbell row. Deadlift it up into your lap and hug the hell out of it, trying to keep your arms a bit below the center line of the stone.

Good luck, Marc! Let us know how it turns out.

Best of luck Marc.

How heavy are the farmer's implements? the tire?

Good luck.

If I needed advice I'd drop in on Nobbit/Jwillstrong's log, Tony's log, and Pfisterer's, as those are the resident strongman badasses.

Took 1st place overall. Video isnt the best, was taken from a cheap digital camera. Farmers were 200 each, Crew cab Diesel truck, 250 pound stone. Not a real heavy comp but a good first win I guess.
