Addendum to Big Swede's post on not eating enough: I'd say the absolutely absurd #s of guys online claiming to be hard-gainers is one myth that's annoying.

That doing 1,000,000,000,000 sets of sit ups in the gym will give you a shredded 6-pack.

Fail.

That is also a big pet peeve.

I would love to run a one month Hardgainer boot camp. It would be nothing but donuts and squat racks.

Bottom line...there are too many quality compound lifts. I have never seen the point in performing 9 sets of presses and then 4 sets of cable crossovers.
I believe to a body builder isolation movements definitely have their place. You cant just bench, deadlift, and squat and expect to grow proportioned perfectly. People have their weak points and isolation movements are the way to put more emphasis on them.

I cant imagine a successful bodybuilder who never flys/curls/leg extensions.

haha you know i would post to this one when i press for 10 sets then fly for another 10. lol

(i am in no way saying iso > compound, or even close. im just saying it does have its place)

myth: to loose weight you need to do cardio, or cardio is the only way to lose weight

the firestarter: carbs and or fat build muscle

people that think you have to eat clean to gain muscle size.

the most succesful bulk i have ever been on was when i ate a grilled cheese sandwich before bed, everyday in 3 months.

gained 15lb in 3 months and started hating grilled cheese

indeed it was not only muscle i gained but did not become any sloob either.

"Women shouldn't do heavy weights, they'll bulk up." Thus endless hours on the treadmill...

There's a blog all about crossfit women, and the guy posted a
of a woman attempting a double bodyweight deadlift. Bulky she ain't.

All was looking good, and then the attached ad popped up. Reality vs marketing.

Just thought it was funny
