When I was younger I did a 3 on, 1 off routine much like Arnold. It seemed to work great, but it wore me down very quickly. I think for me, the biggest key with more frequency is not over-working daily volume. I have never really been a volume trainer.
Quite frankly, "volume per bodypart" training has always been somewhat of a mystery to me. After about 6-8 heavy sets for any major bodypart, I am about done.
