I haven't done any research on it at all, but I know Dan Harrison swears by West Side.

Is DH all you talk about? It's creeping everyone out.

SSD: I concur with Tony (BBG) when he stated that Westside is better for equipped powerlifters. My suggestion is to use either Starr's 5x5, Gaynor's 3x3, Wendler's 5/3/1, Sheiko, or Gillingham's deadlift routine with your own squat/bench programming.

It only seems to creep you out. But, when a guy can lift 2066 in competition and just lifted 50 lbs less than the record raw deadlift, he may be onto some good training methods.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one on this board who notices the scary amount of man-love that you feel toward Dan Harrison.

I hate that you feel compelled to ruin threads by changing them to a DH celebration, but here we go:

1) Granted, 903 is some incredible weight, but it would never pass in a powerlifting meet, only in a strongman competition. It's against the rules to use straps or hitch/ramp in powerlifting. The hitching/ramping is reminiscent of my notorious, old videos.

2) Why is he consistently using straps for 1RM lifts when he's acknowledged on multiple occasions that grip is his weakest link?? That doesn't seem like a good way to improve grip strength.

3) You really shouldn't be giving a drug-free girl advice, based on what someone who's roided is doing in the gym. That is irresponsible and dangerous.

4) Wouldn't it be more prudent to give advice from YOUR personal experience (i.e. blood, sweat, and chalk) in the gym, not second-hand info from your idol/hero/crush/whatever?

Default Westside and strongman

I can attest for the Westside method. Ive been hitting it pretty hard for couple of months with the strongman log and fat bar. My presses have went up 20lbs since starting, The speed days have really been a lifesaver and have taken me over the top. The top part of the lifts are always the toughest. Being an experienced lifter the bands will feel different but within a week you'll be used to them. I expect some people to put their two cents in, but Louie Simmons is a household name and the man is a genius in the strength world. I would highly suggest reading the method, and highly suggest trying it.

To Trevor and DW...I have mad respect for both of you. I would just encourage you guys not to let you feelings about one guy get in between how you treat each other. And please not on the open boards.

I am damn glad to have both of you on the forum. Please keep the tone respectful.

I apologize for that, Steve. I despise DH and it irks me every time that TL touts him in various threads.

No worries DW. Trevor is a great guy and I hate to see you guys not get along over someone who isn't on the forum.
