Default Props to Jim Curley

I miss PowerliftingUSA. There's still something about an old school magazine that I enjoy. Maybe it's just hard keeping the laptop balanced when I'm on the loo- who knows.

A gentleman from Colorado - Jim Curley- gave it a go in June 2014 and printed Powerlifter Today. I subscribed once I noticed. I thought it was a good, solid effort. The magazine has since met it's demise. When I first received notice on line, Jim Curley issued a general statement indicating he would 'make up' the subscription with any missed issues. It wasn't a lot of money but I thought that was kinda lame.

However, and to my surprise, today I received the first two issues (those I missed) in addition to a check for $11. Again, not a lot of money but money isn't the issue here. It is integrity. I could list numerous times where a powerlifting-centered business ripped off the lifter. I can name three 'name' powerlifters who have done this in the last 5 years. But not Mr. Curley. He put forth his best effort to re-invent the powerlifting magazine and when the efforts failed, he made good. I've never met Jim but I gotta tell ya - I'm impressed.

It's got to be tough trying to come out with a new Magazine. Specially something focused on Powerlifting.
