Default Need help selecting a bar for home gym

I've had enough of using a commercial gym and am building a home gym. I know what I'm going to buy for just about everything but the bar. I'm interested in a bar that can meet all needs, deadlift, squats and bench. I prefer a knurled grip that bites in on the deadlift. I used one of these many years ago and never needed chalk up to 500 lbs, which was my PR at the time.

Here is a list of the bars I'm looking at. I'm interested if the knurling is in the correct places, does it bite in when holding, ect. What do you like or don't like about a bar and overall quality.

Texas power bar 28.5 mm.
Texas deadlift bar 27 mm.
1200 lb texas bar 28.5 mm.
Black texas power bar with center knurling.
Westside power bar 29 mm.
Ohio bar 28.5 mm
Rogue Bar 28.5
cap 1200 lb bar

I'm also interested in what you use for Dumbbells? I need dumbbells that are long enough and stout enough to handle over 200 lbs of weight.

Thank you....Ken

Jessups bar is a pretty solid bar for price. The Texas bar is the way to go for most people.

I'm loving my texas DL bar. For an all around bar, by TX power bar is pretty great. Solid knurling, not much whip, but a great bar.

Great feedback, thank you.
I also forgot, York barbell is less than an hour from me, if the showroom is still open to the public I will check out their bar selection.

If you are interested in competing you would benefit most by using what your fed uses in competition.

I recently picked up the Rogue Ohio Power Bar. GREAT knurling. It's fairly aggressive, much better than anything I have ever used in a commercial gym, but at the same time does not shred your hands. It has the center knurl for squats and is quite stiff. Might not be great for the fast lifts, but for the slow lifts I'd say its one of the best at its price.
