Default The best 5x5 variation?

Hey folks, I want to get my son doing the 5x5 routine, but have seen 3 or 4 different variations. Can someone recommend the real or best one?

I have only done the stronglifts 5x5. It's real, and you can gain a lot of strength quickly. Some have even gone back to it to get more from it, you run it for a short time, 3-4 months.

Ok thanks..that's the one where you keep the same weight for all five sets, then add weight when accomplished. I seen others that use 2 of the five sets for warm-ups and another where you add weight each set! That one seems like the best,thanks.

When I started lifting I was initially doing a 3 day split. Then I ran a 5x5 from muscle and strength written by Steve. I made great gains. Basically doubled my lifts in 10 months.

Well there are different types of 5x5. 5x5 straight sets, 5x5 ramping sets, 5x5 intermediate programs like the Texas Method. Depends on how new you are to training the compounds. Overall The Texas Method is the most advanced one and one that allows the most progress, but you will progress slower if you can recover and train hard 2-3x/week since on that you have volume, recovery, and intensity days.
