It is very taxing on your body if your nutrition and recovery are not optimal!

Yes, I've done it. No, not for an extended period of time. Got a PR in that time frame, however.

I found it fairly taxing on the lower back (I was also squatting 3 times a week in the same period of time, which probably didn't help either). Not so much the "CNS" or whatever. The lower back in particular.

Could just be me, that. I haven't tried it for anything close to a long time, like I said. Not keen either...

I have not, but if I was going to, I would not squat, until maybe the 3rd week and not deadlift that week, and I would be very careful selecting weights and reps. Conversely, if I was going to squat 3X per week, I likely would not deadlift at all.

I would also only do it if I wanted to focus my training on increasing my deadlift.

This week I only deadlifted twice and squatted 3 times. ..plan on staying with this for a while though. Spacing out my deadlifts about 4 days. I believe you can do it as long as you take care of yourself and recover well.

What an interesting thread to come across as I was planning on giving 3x/week deadlifts a go starting this week. As far as I know it has been done by several people who lifted lower numbers and seems like a great idea if overall squat volume is kept in check.

I did it for 6 weeks last summer going into fall and moved my conventional pull up 50 pounds. I would just go in and work up to only one top set each day I trained sometimes it was even 4 times a week sometimes.
