Good to know I will check this out further.

My worry is that I do not know enough about training like he does and would just mess up the entire routine.

actually its debatable, on one hand you have more weight/stress to deal with, but fewer chances to fuck up, versus less weight/stree but way more chances to fuck up

Low rep training is not dangerous as long as you use good form and be smart about it. Don't try to do things that you can not do, like going for a 50 pound PR

Personally I feel low rep training is most dangerous when it's used on a whim. Like Jwood said, you don't just go in and try to nail a new PR by 50.

I would even say that if you want to train with heavy 1,2 and 3's, work into it slowly so you can physically and mentally "get in the groove". If you go out and try to do 10 sets of 2 reps with 90%, having never done them before, you might bust a nut.

Take some time and get a feel for this type of training.
