Default strength equipment, need opinion and guidanceeeeeee

Hey guys,

So, like a typical newbie, i bought things that were cheaper...Standard weights/barbell

so im looking to upgrade to olympic things. Im going full out, selling my bench and getting a nice power rack with a more solid bench

firstly, i found this deal online:

-Keystone Power Rack with dip attachment
-changeable bench (this thing is solid!)
-200lbs of weights, cast iron
X olympic barbell (normal one)

however, i told him i dont want the barbell, as i want to buy a good one and keep it forever.

anyways, i have to questions:

1.) All the things above (expect the barbell) is costing me $800, yay or nay?

2.) I will obviously need a barbell soooooooooo........... any recommendations? I am willing to spend max 350$... preferably lower lol
i was looking at the rogue bar (or the power one), as well as the economy rogue bar.. but im not set on rogue, so any other companies are fine to suggest.

i hope i posted this in the correct spot. any feedback is appreciated

thanks all.

I don't have experience with the stuff listed, but I currently use a rogue economy bar in my home gym. It's my favorite bar by far. And I don't mean of the 3 I have. I mean period. Of any bar I've used in a gym, if I had a choice I'd always use this thing. The knurling is aggressive but fine and the finish feels just fantastic in my hands. The only thing I wish it had was knurling in the center of the bar (which most of the rogue bars have), but I took a chance and got it on clearance and I have not once felt that I needed the knurling in the center to help me hold it.

I've squatted and deadlifted 500+ and benched 400+ with it and the bend was very natural and not overly pronounced.

As far as your other stuff, I don't even have a power rack at home and I've been able to work with some pretty high poundages. I just have a rack, a bench, and 2 saw horses for safety rails. Almost any power rack will be workable if it has trustworthy safeties that are adjustable enough to be where you need them to be.

I don't know much about that equipment. Just for comparison, I got mine here:

http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/

My bench unit was $349 and has handled me benching 500 pounds with ease. It has dipping bars.

http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/95003.html

Or you could get a sumo squat rack for $329. This is what I use:

http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/92565.html

And add a $149 bench for benching in it:

http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/2250.html

Excellent 7" power bar here for under $200:

Not sure if I'd trust the bar holding up the upper part of the bench. If that went with 300lb over your chest you'd be pretty screwed. Hell, if it went with 100lb over your chest you'd probably be done.

so i decided to go with this:

1 squat cage (bench press, squats, various pull downs)
1 adjustable bench (goes to every angle)
1 squat stand
1 leg extension for leg curls
2 full size Olympic bars (45lbs)
1 preacher bar
1 adjustable dumbbell
1 pull down rope
1 pull down triangle
1 Lat pull down bar
1 tricep pull down wavy bar
2 handles for flys or various pull downs
3 sets of clips for the bars
4 45lbs plates
4 35lbs plates
4 25lbs plates
7 10lbs plates
6 5lbs plates
4 2.5lbs plates.

its a whole package so i cant pick and choose. Buying used. The power rack isnt as good but itll get the job done.
cost? listed for $1000... getting for $850... good deal?

and yes, youre reading that correct. Theres a squat cage (with safety bars) AND a squat stand lol...
