The wrong kind of encouragement
One example, a geared bencher put a vid on fb of a respectable but comparably light raw deadlift (hes not in perfect condition to squat and deadlift).
Some dude makes a comment along the lines of "Cool man, keep working on it and get your squat up, you can total xxxx or even xxxx!"
Of course a few people asked the proverbial WTF?
One we see alot is someone hits a huge PR, big superhuman numbers, and all the comments are "We will see (so and so) numbers hit, records broken, bla bla bla..."
Maybe im just spouting steam, but it seems stupid to get so far ahead, not just for yourself, but talking to another person as well? I know ive done it in the past, but im learning. Its not good to have a number in mind, a long term goal, and then get ahead of the big picture. Getting excited about what might happen 6 months from now, when next week has not arrived. Lets make those consistant little PRs and stay as healthy as possible. Not saying I think long term goals are bad, I just wish more people would think before they talk.

Yep, I agree, a lot of people won't permit the lifter to relish the moment which is what should be occurring...it's always about the next lift, the next weightload up, I just don't understand that concept. We all know that the lifter will progress because they progressed to that load, so why push or even hurry them along?
I got off that train a long time ago, not interested in that way of thinking, at all; be in the moment but know that progress is continual and let people breathe and appreciate where they are now.

Agreed. I've flown under the radar somewhat for the haters so far lol. But I see it all the time. And it's never an accomplished lifter making the comments. I see a trend
