Default Olympic lifts

I've been preaching this for YEARS! When I played football in high school both of my serious injuries involved olympic lifts. I played my senior year with a cast on my wrist and I never even got hurt on the field.

Theres lots of things people dont need to do. It dosnt mean there are not good reasons to do them

Weightlifting techs are a great tool in snc and there is a reason they are so wide spread. If your a good coach you know how and with whom to implement them and what techs to implement.

On the contrary, I think there are tons of reasons to not use O-lifts, most of which are mentioned in the article.

What word is supposed to be where you wrote "snc"? I'm confused on what you were trying to get across.

Soldier, what were your injuries?
No time to read the articles atm, but I agree that this is a good topic to discuss.

I broke my wrist performing a squat clean, when my elbow hit my knee while attempting to rack the bar on my chest. The other injury happened while I was spotting someone attempting a jerk PR. He was in a squat rack and my finger was crushed between the bar and the rack after he missed the lift.

why would you spot someone doing a jerk. thats a major injury waiting to happen if he misses or has to dump it which apparently happened.

Exactly! Olympic lifts are more dangerous and less effective for developing all facets of strength. bam.
