Wow! If that's how I'll be judged, I'm doomed! 1 & 2 easily deep enough, 3 close but after he first two I've heard most of the time you get a little leeway. Feel bad for the guy

first two were easily deep enough. the third might have be just shy. I think that damn dead lift double over hand grip is just awesome! Great work

Hahaha LtL, very nice.

I do agree that the front judge has no right to be red lighting on depth, that's why the other two judges are there in the first place.

At least from our perspective;

First attempt was the best. It wasn't buried but looked good from our possition, and am suprised it was called.

Second looked def out. If your called for depth on first attempt and you don't go as deep as that then mistake. I am not suprised at all on this call. It looked right.

3rd was borderline.

I thinks it's fair to say he didn't get the rub of the green. However I think only his first squat was convincing enough from this angle to say there was a possible mistake.

Much of his squats in training are high tbh. I think he's only just recovered from a hip injury that effected his depth for at least a portion of his training. Redgardless of any potential refing mistakes he could have made the lift to required depth. Instead he cut his second higher and didn't do much better on 3rd.

The front judge is also there to judge depth. He cannot judge to the same accuracy as side judges but if he thinks its high he can call it as such.

That last deadlift was quite strange, he just picked it up like it was nothing and then suddenly it came to a halt and he couldn't lock it?

Looked like his hands were a bit more open on the last pull from the start esp the left hand also they had more contact with thighs causing him to struggle with his grip on the last pull.


What a beast. I'd be tick about the first two red lights but that's from the comfort of my chair being able to pause the lift or watch it again(not that it was necessary on the first two imo).

I wouldn't want to be a judge, all the different structures to discern whats legal depth which seems to be different from one fed to another then throw gear on top of all that, NO Thanks.
If I didn't like the judging then my money would go to another Federation.

Looked as good as any of the other 1000 pound lifts that get green lights, nowadays.

He's no Valentin Dikul though...
