I really don't see strongman hiding anything. Strongmen are very gear whorish. Straps, wraps, sleeves, sleeves with straps, suits, briefs, double belts. Its all about moving more weight. Plus a lot of strongman events require movement. Hell I would use a suit if it was allowed on squats. Save a lil bit of energy for really tough events.

I'm actually prepping for my first strongman comp. Initially I'm going with just belt and wrist wraps but if I keep competing you can bet your ass that I will have those hip warmer briefs, extra belt, and maybe even a single ply squat suit.

Not much carry over in a deadlift suit.

You will do very well in a strongman comp. Something I have always wanted to do. Maybe one day Ill get my fat ass in shape and healthy.

Its more of an advertising thing than a hiding thing in strongman especially in WSM.

Not everyone want to take the time to learn gear that they will use in a handful events over a career. That is my case anyway. I might get into some singly ply stuff in a few years if I can get back to training more consistently.
