Walking out 1000 is crazy let alone squatting it. Squatting at home I fear the walkout most, knowing that if I trip 600 pounds might land on my head or chest.

Unbelievable from start to finish.

Also gotta say how impressed I was to read that JB would drive 2hrs for decent training partners. That is commitment right there folks

Once again, just when you've thought you've seen it all...

WRT the Crew I train with, many of the members travel 2+ hours one way to lift with us... and they do it every weekend... Saturday & Sunday. Man on man, I feel so lucky to live only a short 10 minute drive away. Bench day is the most attended by the out of towners.

While I am impressed with how lots of guys train here alone, I think they would make even bigger gains with a training group. For years Friday night was squat night. Rather than squat with the team in college, coaches would let me train something else because they knew I was driving 2 hrs after school to lift. I have learned a lot about myself in a squat rack haha.

Whats the big deal about doing it alone?

A rack would be ideal, but he had those boxes.

If you can squat 400 max or 1000, I do not see the difference of doing it alone.

Did you just compare the 400 to 1k?

Different worlds. Bar whip, pressure build up, the chance of injury grows as the weight climbs.

Yes I sorta compared them. If you are a 400 squatter, walking out and squatting probably feels no different than 1000 to blaine. Its all relative.

Its not even close to relative. The pressure at those kinds of weights is unreal. Much after 900lbs my head feels like its going to explode. Sure never felt those guys for the previous weights over the years.
