Default First powerlifting meet

Whats up guys? Ive got my first powerlifting meet June 1st. Just trying to get any quick tips and find out around where I should be to honestly compete. Current lifts are 545 squat 500 pull 385 bench. deadlifts are moving nowhere for some reason. anything would help. appreciate it

Good luck. What federation?

Here's a sticky we have that might help:

My best advice is to not worry about weight class. Pack your gym bag with a good shaker, fruit, almonds, strong cheese, beef jerky, protein powder, protein bars and and other snacks you might need.

Sit and relax as much as you can. It could be a long day.

I was going to say make sure you take some video of your heavy squats and confirm that you can make depth, what with the squat being higher than the dl, but then I saw SPF, so probably no worries there. (kidding, sort of).

I'd echo btb's advice, bring more food and fluids than you think you need, and try to relax between your flights. Preserving as much nervous energy as you can might make the difference between having enough left for your third pull. Open light, make all your lifts, and you'll be happy. Go for PRs on your 2nd attempts, and it could be a long day.

Obviously, having a handler you know and trust will help immensely.

Finally, have some immodium on hand. Better to have and not need than need and not have...trust me here.

But not too high...just enough to call it good!!!

Start with a weight that you know that you can handle any day of the week. Understand the instructions such as...rack, bench, press, etc...a lot of people get red light due to this mistakes. Practice your opener and second attempt two weeks prior and do not exceed 85% in the last week...

REMEMBER THAT GYM MAX ARE NOT MEET MAX...

ENJOY THE MEET!!!
