Deadlift/Madcow Advice?
Started Madcow 5x5 Friday using a 1 rep max of 440lbs. I was able to do all 4 sets of the deadlift. I'm only using the Deadlift once a week part of Madcow so I can hopefully reach 500lbs. Well today I felt good and tried a 1 rep max & got 450lbs. Should I change my Madcow 1 rep max to 450lbs and start with this number for Week 2 Friday (4/26)?

Also do you think I probably could have gotten more than 450lbs? Deadlift Advice?
Also what do you think of the breathing technique I used? First time trying it.

I would not reset. The extra few pounds won't make that much of a difference.

The program will get you where you need to go. I would also recommend holding off on max deadlifts attempts for a while. Too much risk, minimal reward.

I agree with steve. Whenever calculating % based on a 1RM, use a 1RM you could pull any day and not your absolute max.

I agree with Steve and Swede. During a 6 week training cycle, I will pull a 1rm only once. Subtract 5% and reset. Depending on your goals, you need to pull maxes, but as said by the guys above me, more is not always better in that aspect.
