Default 275 or 308

Ok I'm not new to things but just want your opinion...if you were going after a specific total what would you do? Go up a class or just float in your natural weight class? For example 275# class but you weigh 278, or would you just go 308?

I would cut the 3lbs. Being that close to 275, I would consider you a 275er anyway. You can lose the 3lbs in your sleep before your weigh in.

Adding weight really helped my strength. My opinions is that before you start adding weight, if you decide to do so, you need to make sure you are already building strength with your existing programming and that you are not grinding against any walls.

Sorry peeps, this isn't about me...I wanted to know your opinion if that were your case. No matter your weight class...a better example

You compete in 242, but you weigh 255 during training cycle, and your after a huge total. Would you just bump up or try to cut weight? Again sorry about not being clear.

I will put another 5-6 pound in muscle and cut before the meet. 275 will be my choice. He is already there. Even if he doesn’t gain any lbs, the best choice will be 275. Why??? He will be in the top of that weight class, however if you compete in the next weight class...he will be at the bottom with a lot of big guys...

I wouldn't cut weight just for a big total. Now if it meant a really high ranking or All-Time Record or money, I would cut the hell out of weight. But just for a total and nothing else, I would eat up and not worry bout it.
