Personal tips that I've learned along my still short journey:

Leave your ego at the door.
Prepare. Showing up dehydrated, hungry, and tired will guarantee failure.
Be ready to fight for that grinder of a PR.
Listen and learn. Absorb everything you can, and assimilate that knowledge.

Almost all feds use the "top of the knee" and the "top of the thigh at the hip joint" to judge squats. It's not "hip joint", so the femur is actaully below parallel, not parallel. To many people use the wrong reference points, so they squat high. Even with the high camera angle, I think the first pic is way high.

Looks high because of the angle...looks like a quarter squat actually. The horizon is probably a good 1-2' feet higher in the pic than it should be when judging squats.

Next time will include two camera angles of same lift.

The second pick my hip line might be a little low, but I figured it was close enough for argument's sake.

Nice! It sounds like you are usually squatting to proper depth then.

I also thought the first pic was high. The rule Ryano stated is also the rule the 2 feds I have lifted in use. I also do understand that video can be deceiving. With that said, my approach to training has always been to make sure you leave no doubt. I got called on depth at my last meet at the WPC Worlds in Vegas and I can tell you it royally sucks and pretty much left me no choice but to bury it on my 2nd lift and 3rd lifts.
