I squat in my work boots cause i cant afford oly lifting shoes yet.

I do. I like the ankle support, sturdy ground sensation. Have some chuck"t and wrestling shoes but for max rep or competion I use my Crain Power shoes.

I have a Crain belt!

I do not. Have never.

Used to use plates under heels as a beginner until I figured out hip and ankle mobility needed. Also was a high bar squatter then with medium stance and wider grip.

Now, I squat to true parallel with low bar with medium-wide stance, narrower grip.

Some people just squat better in shoes. Nothing wrong with that. More important to keep form., so if shoes help with that, rock on.

I use Do-Wins weightlifting shoes, they're a quick fix for ankle flexibility.

I do. I use a cheaper oly shoe made by adidas. I tried different flat shoes and barefoot. The oly shoes kept me from forward tilt and helped the depth of my squats. The difference for me was night and day.

A nice pair of black beat the F up work boots.
