Powders

Are all protein powders created equally? Meaning is the cheap $15 jug I could buy at Walmart the same as the more expensive stuff at GNC?

prob not. cheaper usually has crappy sugars, etc. not saying the most expensive is the best and im not saying the cheap stuff wont work...just depends on how picky you are about youre whey and supplements.

Check out the M&S store from the link on this forum. They have a lot of quality protein powders for cheaper than GNC would. I personally like IsoFuel and MGN Whey from there.

Thanks for all the great advice. I will have to visit the store then and see what I can find.

look for amino acid profiles on side of protein and grams of protein per scoop 27g in 30g scoop is lots of protein, the amino acid profile will tell you what kind of aminos make up the proteins, certain aminos are much cheaper to put in products than others thus you can have a high protein content with a terrible mix of amino acids

I think its safe to say, that from one product to another (like brands of food or other drinks), they are not the same. It can be different quality, price, and the tastes can be different though they may be the same flavor. Likewise, there are some cheaper brands that may be cheaper and taste good. Just have to shop around and experiment some. I use a whey protein but sparingly, I prefer hard food items for protein.

Best wishes to you, and welcome to the forum!
