gorillablood is off to a bad start
Default Powerade

I have been drinking the powerade zero which has zero calories. It says that it replenishes sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium from sweating. But when you look at the potassium level per serving of the drink it says 1%. And that magnesium has only trace amounts. How can it be helping if there is only 1% of the DRV or only a trace?

It does what it says.

It doesn't say, replenish all the way. I also drink the stuff. I have one every morning, and then use the bottle for water all day. It's my coffee.

If you are seriously looking for replacement minerals, try E-Lyte. It's on line, just google it. It's a concentrate you add to water. Makes your water taste like ass, but it works. I drink it the day of heavy training and meets. Keeps me from getting cramps.

As Ricka says, it's just a small part of the big picture. Supplement Magnesium Citrate if you are concerned about getting enough. I enjoy drinking it just to have something with some flavor.
