Fruit and veggie allergies

Someone asked me this:

Quote:

What should I do if I'm allergic to raw fruits and veggies? What should I eat?
Has anyone ever heard of an allergy like this? I'm wondering if this is real life, or if someone's yanking my chain...

Nope, it's very true, people can have allergies to anything. I am allergic to fresh pineapple due to the acid, it makes my mouth burn...thankfully not a serious allergy but I avoid the fruit. Hubby has issues with Galileo melon, one small cube of it gives him a hangover like headache.

If either of us had more of those fruits, or exposed ourselves to them, they could turn more serious, more so for me since it affects my mouth.

And, I also know someone that cannot eat even a small amount of red pepper, the bell pepper, without problems.

I've heard of allergies to specific fruits and veggies, but never to all raw produce. That's why I decided to ask.

Yeah, I just re-read the quote...missed that point; it could be that they were generalising as to what to do if they came across one they were allergic to, or it could be that they have problems with raw foods (which may not be allergy related) in which case, they should just cook it anyway.

They may be the way to approach a response.

Wow I could not imagine being allergic to all of them. That is just crazy.
