8pack is off to a bad start
Default Skinless chicken

Don't get me wrong, I love my chicken with skin. But I have been told it was bad. So I switched to skinless. But I find that skinless has more cholesterol than with the skin. What is up with that?

Most of the cholesterol in our bodies is in our cells and tissues, not stored in our fat deposits. Same for birds, apparently! In fact, if you look at the nutrient analysis for chicken fat you'll see that it doesn't contain much cholesterol at all.

Furthermore, for most people, avoiding dietary cholesterol won't do a whole lot to lower their cholesterol because the cholesterol in the foods we eat has only a minimal impact on our blood cholesterol levels. You'd be better to focus on avoiding saturated and trans fats, both of which can raise your cholesterol. And even though skinless chicken isn't any lower in cholesterol, it is lower in saturated fat.

That is just crazy. I would have thought it to be the other way around. Now I guess I do not need to feel bad about eating the skin.

I can not stand to eat the skin. I think that it is gross. I always give it to my husband.
