Default Lemon Water

My sister has been on a health kick lately where she has been drinking lots of lemon water. she says it is very beneficial to her health, such as clear skin, losing weight, and helps cleanse the system. Anyone on here know if this is correct?

I read something a LONG time ago that had something to do with lemon juice and it being beneficial. However, there are far more important things to concern yourself with. So unless she has the rest of her diet together, lemon juice isn't going to make a difference at all.

Things like lemon juice carry very little significance compared to getting several cups of veggies a day, if you catch my drift...

If it makes her feel like she's doing something good than that's fine, but those claims are BS. It's just freakin' lemons in water.

Probably just drinking water will do all that, but with the lemony goodness flavour it doesn't taste like nothing.

Not much. You have more to worry about by ingesting sugar and starch and the acid those produce as they are broken down in the mouth than the few seconds the citric acid of lemon juice hits them. I take minor issue with a few points in the article, I'm not discounting it but I think they are over-hyping it a bit. Citric acid and whatever else is in the juice of a lemon is not going to be that similar in structure to amylase and pepsinogen. Also, nitpicking, but I think they meant molecular and not atomic.
