Velocity Diet and muscle loss

Anyone try the Velocity Diet? I have a few questions. First I am wondering if it's common to lose muscle in the 28 days?

I think the idea behind the VD is to not lose any muscle.. I think it was on T-Nation, an article that explained the entire process and what to expect. I also think that site is run by the same people who sell all the required supps for the VD, so there may be some bias...

Others here have run other diets, similar in the extreme level, such as Paleo or Warrior or Keto diets, but I think VD is one of the only very low solid food diets, other than starvation..

I was reading Dan John's book and he was talking about the Velocity diet and how much energy he had. I then read another account, and they mentioned low energy.

I don't know which is more common.

I read up on VD and most write that at the beginning of the diet they had low energy but as the pushed through the first week or week and half the started to feel higher energy. But I think it's more to gain/maintain muscle and shed body fat. There is a not much whole foods in there and you have to buy all the supps for it from biotest. I think there is some bias to it. I wouldn't do it. I love eating food.
