Default Health Supplements

Do you take any supplements for purely health/longevity purposes? Not so much anything to do with lifting, but just in general.

Dr. Vanessa's Collagen
Silver Biotics
Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen, Bee propolis in Raw honey (Y.S.Eco Bee Farms)
Greens+ Superfit with Vanilla Chai
Moringa Leaf
Chlorella

All the above are essential in my mind - I would not be able to lift what I do without them.

I take Himalaya liver care. With diabetes, I am paranoid about fatty liver disease. I also take a multi as a backup. I can't eat as much as I used to.

Hmmm, I have non-alcoholic fatty liver, I should make this a regular in my cabinet.

Vit D3
Saw Palmetto - I pee easier thank you.
Fish Oil, switching to Krill when this bottle is finished.

I was advised against Krill, as it is a bottom feeder. Unsure why a bottom feeder would be bad.

I try and get everything from food
Oysters smoked post workout 1 time per week- Zinc, helps with Test lvls
Blackstrap Molasses 3 tbs in pot of coffee - Magnesium, Helps with protein synthesis low glycimic index
Coconut Oil 1 tbs every morning in smoothie or just off a spoon - MCT helps keep energy up with no carbs so no insulin spike, Lauric Acid raises HDL good for hart issues, anti inflammatory, anti fungle, antimicrobial, antiviral
12oz of V8 every morning - 2 full servings of vegetables in a can, need I say more
Sardines 1 can after workout 1 time per week - Omega 3's for joint health and hart health, Protein out the wazzo.
Live culture yogurt Made fresh every week, 2 cups every day - Probiotics for gut health, Protein up the wazzo.
Green Tea, Ginger Tea, Fenugreek Tea mix 4 cups every day- Green Tea high in antioxidants, Ginger tea anti inflammatory helps with gut inflammation and workout recovery also best heartburn cure in the world, Fenugreek tea helps Testosterone levels and is anti inflammatory for gut and helps recovery from workout also a great hartburn cure.

I use all of this religiously due to a Gaul stone I have larger then a golf ball, before I had pancreatic pain almost every time I ate anything with fat in it. I will never take any of thies out of my diet, they all work and their side benefits for my workout are huge. I take no pain meds as my doctor prescribed, I hate medication.

I've taken many over the years but don't any more.

However:

If I didn't eat lots of oily fish, I would consider fish oil.

If I didn't eat plenty of veggies, I might consider one of the 'concentrated veggie' type supplements.

I think caffeine, in moderation, probably has some health benefits.

Fish oil and leucine.

Supps cost money, and I don't have a lot to burn. But I'll eat the hell out of food lol!

I forgot to mention a high quality probiotic - one with at least 50 billion cultures and 10 different strains, and with a coating that prevents the stomach from destroying them, thus allowing the pill to go into the intestines were it is needed.

If anyone thinks they are getting enough probiotic from yogurt, think again. You would have to eat a large bucketful of it everyday just to get enough bacteria. This is one supplement you can never get enough of from food.

Shame on the yogurt manufacturers for making people think they get enough bacteria from their products.
