Default eating eggs every day bad?

my mom doesn't want me eating eggs every morning because she says they're too high in cholesterol? Is this a legitimate concern? If not can someone point me to a reputable website which says it's fine so I can show my mom? I cant find much on the topic. thanks

Eggs are one of the most nutritionally dense foods in the universe. You are not going to croak by eating 4 eggs a day. Drinking soda all day = croak. Eating Little Debbies all day = croak.

The good in eggs far outweighs any small amount of "bad'.

Here's an article I wrote on eggs:

A Look at Protein Foods: Eggs | Muscle & Strength

I address saturated fats:

Quote:
Exploring the issue of saturated fats, the FDA recommends that an individual eat 20 grams of saturated fats per day on a 2,000 calorie diet. An active, natural bodybuilder who requires 3,000 to 4,000 calories per day would obviously require more saturated fats. This requirement could go as high as 30 to 40 grams per day, or more.

Adding four whole eggs per day provides only 6.4 grams of saturated fat, and 20 total grams of overall dietary fat. As you can plainly see, there is little reason for a natural bodybuilder to avoid the egg.
Bottom Line: Eating 4 eggs a day only gives you 6.40 grams of saturated fats. You NEED (to survive in good health) 30-40 grams of saturated fats per day. Some people, like your mother, believe you should eat zero. That is BAD for health.

Avoid fried chicken. Eat eggs. Sorry mom. The end.

Ha ha, I laugh because my mom raises chickens and insists I eat eggs daily!
Of course, I love them and would anyway.

Short version: Store eggs from egg "factories" come from abused, poorly nourished chickens. THOSE eggs ARE higher in "bad" cholesterol and lower in vitamins, etc. Eggs from properly raised chickens have a balanced cholesterol profile, natural lecithin to emulsify fat/cholesterol and more vitamins than most veggies.

I'm no doctor, and I do not fully understand the how and why of it, but since I started lifting and watching what I eat, I introduced eggs into my diet, and my cholesterol has gone down. I am sure there are other factors involved as well ie. increased physical activity and a better overall diet, but the facts are what they are on my blood work report. So in my opinion, the answer is NO, eggs are not bad for you. My family doesn't understand it either, and they are constantly screaming at me for eating eggs, but they also dont have a problem downing a half tub of ice cream every night after dinner.

I've been eating 3-6 eggs every morning, sometimes a handful of hardboiled during the day for the past 1 1/2 years..I feel fine, and am not concerned about the "high" cholesterol..

"cholesterol turns into testosterone"

All of your lifting is using it up

According to me its nit bad. People think that eggs are bad for you because they contain cholesterol. But eating 2 eggs a day is absolutely fine. Eggs are low in saturated fat, good source of protein. Only 25% of cholesterol in your body comes from your diet, so it is unlikely to give you a problem unless you have high cholesterol already.

I eat 10 eggs per day, divided in 2 sessions. One 5 egger post workout and one more 5 egger right before bed. Egg protein has high bioavailability, and I like the nutrients and fat especially at bedtime because that's when your body is recovering and making lots of testosterone, which needs fat to be produced efficiently. I've read that while eggs do have high cholesterol, that doesn't mean your body is absorbing it all. Plus my wife works in the cardiac cath lab where we have free insurance through her job, so if I block a mainline to my heart I'm in good hands.
