That's an interesting question...did you know that the amount of fibre we're supposed to eat has been constantly altered but our bodies haven't ;) and children, at a lot lower bodyweight, are encouraged to eat almost as much fibre as an adult, by some...

Somehow, I doubt there is a one-fits all answer, on this one...and for some, more fibre is not a good idea.

That's the general consensus is 14-24 grams a day, from a quick search on Google.

Don't know how accurate that is though.

I agree with LindenGarcia on this one but then again everyone is different. Some can not handle that much fiber while others can take in more.

i don't pay attention to fiber at the dinner table, but i do pay attention at the supermarket. i buy bread and cereal that are high in fiber, and fruit, vegetables, and beans. i just eat this stuff however often i want, and since each thing is a good source of fiber, i figure it adds up to a good daily amount.

not sure if you want suggestions, but in the past i've also bought flax seed. it goes well with a lot of stuff: cereal, omelets, vegetables, stir fry. just throw in a few pinches into your food. it's supposed to be very high in fiber (also omega-3).

I think it's about 30 grams per day for adults. Chia seeds are pretty much your best source of fiber. 28 grams of Chia yields about 11 grams of fiber.

I just take two spoons of chia seeds a day but strawberries are good too :p

I think that it just depends on who you are. My sister has to eat more fiber than most or she gets a blocked intestine, which causes her severe pain. She even takes fiber pills to supplement with.
