Default Vegetarian Bodybuilding & Hardgainers

A veg hardgainer asked me what to eat for cals. I recommended guac, nut butters, soy/almond milk shakes, and nuts.

Any other suggestions?

They do not eat dairy.

Goes without saying, any/all types of oils (esp. olive oil and coconut oil) for that matter.

Also, whole olives, shredded coconut, sesame tahini

EDIT: Earth Balance spread is a vegan friendly, high fat, dairy free option - I've tried it and it's not half bad!

Thanks LD. Forgot about olives. That's a good one.

Doesn't sound stupid at all. I imagine with a natural peanut butter and a non-white flour bread it's not a bad option.

Why non-white? Depending on the person, if homemade, or the country (due to their laws), white bread is actually better for you than some other versions because some countries stipulate that it has to be fortified whereas wholemeal does not and therefore has less in a sense.

Anyway, tofu.

BEANS
black, kidney, garbanzo, navy, pinto beans, lentil and soy (just don't go crazzzy!)
Swap out brown rice for quinoa it is a higher protein source
