Shakes vs. Whole Foods

What say you? Are you a shaker or a baker?

My new diet will be mostly liquid in the A.M. and mostly solid in the P.M. A mix of protein shakes and BCAA drinks, with other added goodies.

For years I never did shakes, simply because most of them tasted like crap. Now I rely on shakes in the morning. I like the convenience of low calorie, low carb, light meals. Plus it goes well with my coffee addiction.

I have 3-4 shakes a day.

1. As soon as I get up (Pre-Workout)
2. PWO
3. 3PM
4. 9PM (sometimes not)

Never had a shake, however, I have had banana and oat smoothies which is technically a shake just not protein based, and it does make it easier to consume if you're not in the mood to eat or if you can't stomach food etc at the time.

So, based on that, I see no issues with shakes, though I wouldn't have 50% of my intake that way.

I think once I can bulk I'll end up having more shakes. For me lately, I'm soooo hungry all the time, and real food uses up most of my cals.

I do whey, coffee, and coconut oil for breakfast every day and shakes post workout along with 5 boiled eggs. I see no issue with shakes, but I like my real food and whey isolate hits my blood sugar too hard to use if I don't mix it with a fat source or right after lifting.

I have no solid food at all until lunch right now on Carb Backloading. Prior to that I would fill in extra meals with MRP shakes as and when. It's easier than eating the calories that I needed and much less time consuming when at work.

I'm a Wake and Baker. ;)

was doing gainer shakes, but finding chocolate milk to be a cheaper, tastier alternative.
