Sugar turns to fat??

I was told that the body can't process more than 6 grams of sugar at a time without it turning to fat. Is this true?

No idea, however, given that I used to eat lots of sugar and none converted to fat, unlikely; it may be the case for an already overweight and sedentary person.

If the info is from a study, studies are normally carried out on a specific group and not usually across the range of people that exists, so people doing cardio (distance runners, skiers, sprinters etc) may well burn lots of sugar and never convert it to fat but be taking in way more than 6g at a time.

I was fairly lean until about the age of 27. Lived on a lot of processed foods and sugar during various periods of my life.

As a general rule it doesn't make sense.

Take a look here, one large banana has around 17g of sugar in it but it's doubtful it will be suggested that you stop eating bananas even though that would be in excess of 3x the amount the study, that you refer to in your first post, suggests would turn to fat on consumption...
