When Mike Mentzer HITs
This comment was let on the German Volume Training article on the site:

The 10x10, 8x8, 5x5 etc, are all arbitrary, there no science behind them. In my first year of training i used these high volume approach's with little in the way of results. It wasn't until i switched to high intensity training, using just one set to failure that i seen results, my size and strength went up in leaps and bounds (and have continued to over the last 12 years.

As Mike Mentzer stated, the greater the intensity, the greater the growth stimulus......
Thought I would post it for discussion, amusement or random babbling.

In many cases, iHIT is the first method they try that actually has them using intensity and progression, so naturally they will see results. They drink the cool-aide and train with great enthusiasm. That's a good thing.

The bad thing is when they start thinking it's scientific and all other training methods are inferior.

Good point.

Mike focused people on progression and probably pulled more than a few away from heavy fatigue do to the grind. I certainly can see this combination yielding some results.
