Default Using Reeves FUllbody in a more constructed way.

I need a change,and I need it now.Why?
I have been doing the same routine, with 2 slight changes for the past 5-6 months or so.I am not a guy who changes routines like every second week for the fun of it,as I keep what works. But there comes a point that you want a change,to try something else.Thats the time for me.

I will use the Reeves Classic Routine but I was thinking:
How about 1st day,use a 6x3 ramping style of set
on 2nd 3x8-12
on 3rd 3x5-7 or 3x8-12 again.

I love training for strength, and want to keep breaking PRs for a while more.Would that one day of ramping sets be beneficial at all?

I'm currently working with a long time Reeves follower, and have made some changes along the lines that you are talking about.

I've moved the main moves to HLM format in a heavier strength based format that I took from the Pull, Squat, Press workout.

I'm pressed for time today, but will get back here and post up some more on the program. This is the main set rep scheme.

1x5 1x5 1x3 4x3 HVY

1x5 1x5 1x3 2x3 LGT

1x5 1x5 1x3 3x3 MED

Reeves classic physique

Squat..............3x8-12
DB/BB row........3x8-12....DL 3x5* see note
BB/DB Press......3x8-12....*See note.
BB/DB Bench.....3x8-12
BB/DB curl........3x8-12
dips................5x10@BW Try for sets of 10, but do what you can.
BB calf raise.....3x15-20
abs

Perform M-W-F

Classic Physique Power Version

Squat..............1x5 1x5 1x3 (4x3 hvy day //2x3 lgt day // 3x3 med day)

BB/DB Bench....1x5 1x5 1x3 4x3 // 2x3 // 3x3

BHNP / DB presses 2x8-10

DB/ BB rows 1x5 1x5 3x5 *

dips................5xBW

Chins..............5xBW

BB calf raise.....3x15-20

* Deadlifts

On Fidays you will perform deadlifts in place of rows.

1x5 1x5 1x3 4x3

Depending on how strong you are, you may find that you cannot perform the entire set rep scheme for deads even once a week. Thats fine. You may find that deadlifting only once every two weeks is more appropriate. You may just work partials one Friday, and full pulls the next. A good move to work on Fridays if your not going to pull heavy is snatch grip highpulls, in place of full heavy deads.

You will need to pay attention to your body, and your recovery. Work hard, but be smart about how hard you pull with your deads.

A note about benching in the program. You may choose to work the verticql press as the heavy move and move the benching to the lighter aspect of total workload. This is fine, and you can even swap them around from month to month. Both versions of the press are important.

On the first of the weekly session you could drop the presses and work snatch grip highpulls into the session. My own personal preferance would be to use the vertical press as the heavy move. Bench as the light move, and work snatch grip highpulls into the session at least once weekly.
