Front Squats & Back Squats
Ok guys, this is surely a discussion that has been raised countless times before. I've just started to do front squats as I realise they are good for quad/ab/chest/shoulder developement, however I can't seem to lift the same weight as I can as opposed to back squats.

Is this normal? To be able to load more weight on the back squat than the front squat?

Many thanks.

Yes, it's normal. Most people can back squat substantially more than they can front squat.

For example, front squats are a relatively strong exercise for me, and my front squat is just over 80% of my back squat.

Completely normal.

Good to know Tannhauser & Off-Road. Thanks very much :)

I am horrible at front squats, and despite having what I consider to be a strong back, my lower back does not like them.

My front squat max is currently only 60% of my back squat max.
