Default Casey Butt

Even though I never heard of him before I joined this board, after reading the stuff posted on here and other journals, the man's a near perfect balance of intellectual and lifter. It's a damn shame I didn't come here sooner, and it's a real damn shame more do not know about his work considering the shockingly scarce (in comparison to 90% of the crap out there) information regrading drug free lifting. Three cheers for Casey Butt.

Casey Butt is one of the few voices that understands the differences between natural and drugged lifting. Unfortunately 40 years of Weiderland tends to minimize his opinions, and people often see them as dated or ignorant when in fact Casey presents some of the best researched advice in the industry.

There are few people I trust, but Casey Butt is one of them.

There's a whole lot of science, numbers, and anecdotal evidence backing up what he's saying.

Oddly enough, both sides of the fence battle against him.

--The AAS users/magazines present a false picture to naturals on how they can train/gain. The result is that Casey's opinions/workouts/advice are minimized and seen as ineffective because Joe Pro isn't using it, or hasn't used it for 40 years.

--Many naturals work against Casey because they don't want to believe they are limited in gains or should approach training, eating, whatever differently as a result. "If I only work hard enough..."

It's an odd industry. On almost any forum you can start a thread mocking the magazines and their workouts, and people will rapidly join you and agree that the Weider mags are a lot of doo doo.

On the other hand, if you present a realistic picture of gains, or present the idea that naturals should consider training differently, many of the same people who attacked the magazines will then attack you.

I know this all to well. I have been beating a lot of Casey's drums for years, and have been attacked by some pretty big names.

At the end of the day though I sleep fine. I have yet to meet a natural who exceeded their predicted muscle potential by more than a trivial amount.

This might seem like no big deal, but keep in mind I work in the natural industry, and have personally met, spoken with, trained with, interviewed, profiled or filmed everyone from Doug Miller to Layne Norton to Shaun Clarida to Sean Sullivan to Mr. Minnesota to Mr. NC to about 40 other pro naturals.

Those that disagree aren't hostile about it. But even though they don't agree, they are always under their predicted potentials. Even after years and decades of training. And even being the top pros in the game.

That is all I need to know about Casey Butt.
