Some of the best gains I've had in my early years of training, and today, were due to an unintended and/or lazy week off.

I think most of us deload and miss a few days here and there. That happens. But when "misses" happen each week...

Yes.
It takes away the simple punch of the rule, regardless of it's truth.

Another example that the best words in their best order - words that are memorable - make less sense the closer they are examined.
