Default Water consumption

If you are exercising even a few days a week, you should try to get in a gallon of water a day, keeping the body hydrated.

Things that are liquid but not clear water your body dose not recognize as water. So coffee, soda, milk things like that do not count.
When you get thirsty you are already dehydrated.

IF your pee is clear or only a slight tint of yellow you are hydrated. Your pee get yellow or slight yellow with a oder, you are dehydrated.

This is one why you can tell if your getting enough water. Sounds freaky and sick BUT it is a fact.
Liston to your body.

good post rich!

think of it this way..........your muscles are made up of primarily water. the more water in the muscles, the more nutrients that can be stored in the muscle, the quicker your muscles can repair.

water can also flush toxins from the body so the more often you pee the faster you can flush your body. it may be inconvenient but water to me is my most important supplement.

A good goal to aim for is one eight-ounce glass of water for every 10-12 lbs. of bodyweight. So i try to get in about 15-16 glasses per day at 185lbs

Body is 60 - 70 % water and muscles are an even higher percentage (about 70 - 75%) so it makes sense to drink lots of it.

I also agree that soda etc should not be counted, all that does is quench a thirst. it doesnt give the fluid needed to process the sugars.

Remember if you are thirsty, you have left it too late... Drink little and often

Carl.

I drink exactly 144 ounces during the day before dinner, and then just a little after dinner so I'm not up running to the bathroom all night.

Another saying is that for every cup of coffe you drink, you should drink 2 cups of water to stay in balance.

There's also a little, or lesser known fact, that if you drink too much too quickly the urination system can switch off until a later time in the day when you are relaxed and then...water-gates are open again, so-to-speak. Sometimes, this can be seen as dehydration because the person is not urinating, when in fact it's the exact reverse.

I encountered this problem once; sat drinking all day long, on a really hot summer's day...got to a friend's place in the evening and had just a few sips of fluid but was in his bathroom about 4 times in 3 hours; I reckon he thought I was a nut

I actually sleep much better when I overeat. I sleep like a rock at night and rarely get up to pee.

I joke with my wife when on a cutting diet that it's bad for my health because I don't get any decent sleep.
