Default Stretching after workouts

I've read on many sites that stretching the muscle groups you just worked out will benefit muscle growth/recovery. What are your opinions on this and does anyone here do this?

Some times I do, and I feel it does help. Gets the blood in to those muscles that just got worked and are tightening up.

ABSOLUTELY! I am a trainer and been lifting hard for 16 years...it reduces soreness, increases flexability, reduces chance of injury and definately helps in reducing the time it takes to recover...If you're not stretching pre and post-workout, you should be...you might also try myofacial release...it works wonders as well!

Yep, I'm a big believer in post workout stretching. I've been running a dc style workout complete with the extreme stretches. Very theraputic, and I've grown some too. Was it because of the stretches? I don't know for sure, but it has been part of my program. In my book, static stretching can' hurt, particularly AFTER the workout.

For years and years I would stretch a muscle group between sets.

I'm still not sold on stretching the muscle fascia, but with that said, I know first hand that muscle memory works. So in a sense it does appear that the fascia/muscles have some sort of a memory system. I'm just not sold that stretching is the golden key to opening the door for mass. I haven't seen any direct research.
