Zane & Labrada?? Regardless of the points system Steve-O, you've got to have size. If you don't look like a bodybuilder in street clothes you shouldn't be on the list.

Granted I wouldn't normally wear shorts like that in the street. At least not on weekdays.

Not bad, but I would put Sergio 1,Arnold 2, Lee Haney-3, Ronnie-4,Franco-5,Frank Zane-6
but this my opinion and the reason is for me is Size, symmetry, definition and condition so first three had that and they looked like statues that were carved out. As for the last three Ronnie Size, shape, definition and conditioning, but once he really started get bigger he started lose his "lines and look blocky, Franco he had a total package of size, definition and symmetry and his conditioning was dead on , it just that Arnold was bigger version, Frank Zane classic lines, conditioning and his symmetry to match, now his size was lacking , but he made up with shape and symmetry that was a thing of beauty and posing superior,

I guess he's not the biggest, is he? But still looks damn impressive in a T shirt.

Before your first post came up, I was thinking 'if I could pick one of those physiques for myself, which one would it be?' I settled on one of the smaller guys, like Labrada. I just think it would be impressive and yet practical to live with. Clothes would fit. You could still get into airplane seats. You could walk up a hillside without wheezing (tell me Ronnie could do that). You wouldn't be a side-show attraction everywhere you went.

I digress.

In my view, the placings of guys like Labrada and Zane reflected that period from the late 70s to mid 80s when the Weiders were trying to make bodybuilding more mainstream (and to get bodybuilding into the Olympics) by promoting more 'aesthetic' physiques. Then they realised it was a doomed attempt and they might as well confine their efforts to hardcore fans who wanted ever more freaky physiques.

You are correct about that Tann - from a pure health standpoint I'm sure Labrada and Zane were (are) in much better condition. I grew up in an era where I would run home from school to watch Lou as "the Hulk". Heck, we grew up at the same time.

I think when it comes to bodybuilding there isn't much in-between...you either gravitate toward bulk or aesthetics. It should come as no surprise that I was a Dorian Yates fan.

I agree with tann.

If the criteria is who looks best, pretty much all of them look repulsive.
I wouldn't want to look like, or live the unhealthy lifestyle of any of them.

The smaller guys on the list look much Better in my opinion.

Zane, Labrada, Padilla, and Franco all great BB'ers who proved you can be of smaller stature and still build big muscle..... All the " enhancement in the world cannot overcome the fact that some peope are just smaller - framed.

As for looking good in street clothes - I have had the pleasure of meeting Labrada and Danny Padilla - they both looked pretty, darned jacked.
