Default Wendler 5/3/1 Deload Question

So I've been doing 5/3/1 for three weeks now, and so far I've enjoyed it. My lifts are going up every session, and I like the structure. My issue is, im comming up on the 4th week which should be the deload week before the next cycle. Considering I missed my deadlift and shoulder days the first week due to a family emergency, and my deadlifts (but not the entire workout) the second week due to going to the gym at a peak time; I'm unsure as the whether to take a deload week, or move on to the next cycle since I didnt really tax myself as much as the program outlines.

I wouldnt deload if you dont feel the need

In "Beyond 5/3/1" (the ebook), Wendler has people doing two cycles back to back before taking a deload, by default.

Also, there are alternative deload types, both in that ebook and elsewhere (for example, here: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/de...ut-the-deload/).

My personal preference would be to do at least two cycles back to back, then use one of said alternatives (if you're going to have a scheduled deload at all). But hey, whatever works.

For deloads on 5/3/1, I am doing 3 cycles then deload.

This is the guy to listen to, wrt 5/3/1. He's actually done it, like, a lot. And made gains from it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I going to at least go for two cycles before a deload, and maybe three if I dont feel drained. So far so good.
