Overrated: I would have to say curls. I just don't get it, they are not really all that helpful.

Underrated: Deads -- I think I am the only one in my gym that does them, and if you want overall power what better way to build it.

Overrated- bench. I know it's very important but too many guys and bros obsess over it
Underrated- pull-ups. Like I've stayed before this is a strength exercise that's neglected a lot. In the military, law enforcement, etc, this is the number one exercise because it's an essential strength.

Overrated - box squats. They make you stronger at box squats.

Underrated - flat bench flyes. I seldom see people doing these at all at my gym, but with some decent weight I think they're an unbeatable pec-builder.

OVERRATED: Cable exercises. When I've been to a commercial gym, I see absolutely loads of people doing some form of cable...thing, and not much else.

UNDERRATED: Weighted chin ups. They have to be heavy enough though in my opinion. As I say I do them weighted, with enough weight for 5x5.
I don't know why chin ups and pull ups seem to get allot of flack really.
People say you can't progress with them well enough, but I think there are a ton of ways you can.
Great movement for overall strength, and hell, it's basically curling your own body weight!

Overrated: 95% Of the AB machines at the gym

Underrated : Power Clean & Press, my buddy and I are the only ones that do them at our gym.
