Post Power Bodybuilding

Has anyone here used the power bodybuilding approach? I've typically done 4 work-sets per exercise and 8-10 reps. Recently I've been reading about power bodybuilding and it looks like an interesting workout routine mixing low reps and regular reps. If you've tried it, I would be curious what you thought about it.

I love powerbuilding routines. They allow you to build an awesome physique while still gaining plenty of power. They are not necessarily designed for those trying to get a six pack and try to get cut. More for those just trying to get as big and as strong as possible. I'm currently running MAB's Beastly Basics routine and love it. Most full body routines are good for powerbuilding.

MAB also has an upper and lower powerbuilding routine. Basically what I'm running with a few modifications. I love maxing out and moving heavy.

You may want to go to Muscle& Strength.com and look at the
Power/Muscle/Burn program there are three versions'
a Three day work out
a Four day work out
a Five day work out

I'm personally been training on the five day program since last may and I can tell you that for me it the best training program I have ever did and I making great gains in my years of training and I'm recovering pretty well at my age so give it a look and try it I think you will be quite pleased especially with the rep ranges and the pump are mind blowing, I work chest and biceps and I'm get pumps the last for days, this what I experienced so do your research!

Didn't see this thread before.

Well, I'll choose "powerbuilding" every time, by default. At the moment for example, that's a mix of stuff, prioritising compound lifts, with rep ranges anywhere from 5 to 20+. Three days a week, full body.

But you can slice and dice it any which way. 5 or 6 days a week is fine. 2 could even work. Whatever.

One of the best ways to train IMO and probably the most reliable method for getting bigger and stronger. Simple to do as well. Pick some big compound lifts, squats, deads, presses, rows and hit them for some HEAVY reps, anywhere from 3 to 15 and focus on progression. Use targeted isolation work to fill in gaps and accumulate more volume.

My default is about 4-5 sets of 3-5 reps on basic movements. I am a lazy sod, however.
